Writing with amnesia takes a lot of mental effort. Since becoming disabled, everything takes more time and energy than it did before. For example, I often have to reread my own notes several times a day because I can’t remember what I wrote, even if it was just a few hours earlier. Once, I spent an entire afternoon rewriting a paragraph, only to find out later that I had already written the same idea earlier in the draft.
Thanks to readers’ support, this project is a one-woman effort that is both my passion and my livelihood.
Paid subscribers get my monthly newsletter, where I dive deeper into different topics. Each issue features personal essays about living and writing with amnesia, a look behind the scenes at how I work, book recommendations, and thoughts on memory and identity. I also share updates on site projects and sometimes give a preview of upcoming stories. As a subscriber, you can send me one question each month about amnesia, writing, or anything else you’re curious about.
Donations and memberships help keep Amnesiac Adventuress going and growing. Your support covers things like platform fees, accessibility tools, and storage costs, and it lets me spend the time I need on research, writing, and editing. When you become a member or donate, you make it possible for me to create thoughtful, in-depth content about living and writing with amnesia. I truly appreciate your support—it makes a real difference.
